iSTARS Project Milestone: FMUL Receives EURAXESS HR Excellence in Research Award

University of Lisbon’s Faculty of Medicine (FMUL) has been awarded the “Human Resources Excellence in Research Award” by EURAXESS, a European Commission initiative aimed at supporting research institutions in adopting HR best practices to stimulate and enhance scientific careers and encourage professional development and mobility and collaboration across Europe and beyond. The recognition marks a significant milestone for the institution and iSTARS, as FMUL becomes one of the nine Portuguese institutions to hold this award.

Committed to promoting high quality research and positioning FMUL as an internationally acclaimed institution, the iSTARS project has worked with the school for the implementation of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, to enhance the attractiveness of the Faculty of Medicine for both new hires and existing researchers.

The “HR Strategy for Researchers” initiative by the European Commission recognizes institutions that align their human resources policies with the 40 principles outlined in the Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.

Receiving the HR Excellence in Research Award brings several advantages to FMUL, from international recognition, ability to attract top researchers and broaden mobility and collaboration to ensuring ongoing support for researchers and creating a thriving research environment.
