Social Sciences and Ethics

Data has the potential to transform and improve healthcare. However, when handling personal data, it is crucial to ensure that everyone’s rights to privacy and security are protected, and informed consent for the use and processing of data is obtained. Transparent and purposeful data use should be guiding principles for responsibly managing sensitive information.

These are main pillars for the iSTARS project. Our multidisciplinary team includes experts from social sciences and humanities that play a key role in understanding the social and ethical impact of using medical data and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices to uphold high ethical standards and safe practices.
